Most Action Over Southern Areas

Jerry Tracey

As of this writing, significant thunderstorms are occurring over Maplesville and Riderville in Chilton county, and also along the Coosa river in East Chilton and western Coosa counties.  These storms are hardly moving, so basically they are putting down a decent amount of rain in those areas, and they will slowly rain themselves out.  Meanwhile a small but heavy shower is occurring west of Trussville in eastern Jefferson county.  Because of weak steering currents, it too is hardly moving, so most spots will not be affected by this system.  One lone thunderstorm has popped up over northern Cherokee county. A few more isolated thunderstorms will develop over the next couple of hours, but coverage will remain limited.
